Corn syrup is an important energy source and infant formulas are rigorously evaluated for safety by national and international authorities, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). According to the FDA Code of Regulations (21 CFR 184.1865), corn syrup solids are General Recognized as Safe (GRAS) for use in infant formula. The Infant Nutrition Council of American agrees.
